My goal with this group is to be 100% transparent about what I'm doing and why. I know there has been a lot of change lately, here's the thinking behind it and what I see moving forward.
WHY THE NEW WEBSITE?
Truthfully, I don't love forcing people (myself included) to use Facebook. FB does a number of things well, but I want to control my own content. There are also some practical advantages and tools for me when it comes to scheduling, posting, and managing memberships. But most of all, I wanted you to be able to wake up, get a link in your INBOX and be one click away from a great message and a great workout.
I SIGNUP AND PAID AS A MEMBER ON BUY ME A COFFEE
Everyone who was a paid supporter on BMAC had the membership transferred over to the new website. If you paid a year in advance, you'll see you have a COMPLIMENTARY account for 12 months after the date you first signed up. If you're a monthly member, you'll see that you have a COMPLIMENTARY account for one month from the date you were last billed on Buy Me A Coffee. After your complimentary account ends, you'll have to renew on the website (and put in your CC all over again - sorry, it's a hassle - but it was the only effective way to migrate everyone to the new site)
ARE YOU GETTING RID OF FACEBOOK?
Short answer: No. Long answer: Not yet and probably not any time soon. One of the things FB does really well is provide a home for discussion and posting of photos, etc. That's hard (if even possible) to replicate here on the website and I think those posts and photos and all that fun sharing is a huge piece of the heart of what we're doing. So, for the foreseeable future, our Facebook community will be around and (I hope) thriving. That said, I can't put in the time and energy I am right now and simply give away content five days a week, so I'm going to have to figure out a way to keep the FB group thriving but have people subscribing to access the daily videos.
WHAT CONTENT CAN WE EXPECT AND WHEN?
Right now, you're getting a new video from me each day and a suggested youtube workout. That will continue until I've scaled enough to be able to pay trainers to make a daily workout just for Good Vibes Wellness (that's at about the 4000 paying member mark, if you're doing the math). While we work on getting the community to grow, I'll be posting recipes (videos curated from youtube and recipes from chefs/nutritionists I love), short-form fitness videos from your favorite trainers, and a new podcast (launching soon, no exact date but we've already recorded episode 1).
New content and features will be rolling out over the next couple of months.
EXPLAIN FREE vs. VARIOUS PAID MEMBERSHIP TIERS
Everyone is welcome to join the Good Vibes Wellness website, regardless of whether or not you can afford to be a paying member. I'll work hard to make sure that even at the free tier I'm delivering useful, interesting posts. Different levels of membership offer different levels of access to content. Here's a look at the current tiers:
The goal here is to have an affordable tier of membership but to also reward/incentivize those folks who subscribe at a higher level with extra content. In order to cover expenses, a paid subscription will soon be required to access the daily video and workout.
CAN I SEARCH UP OLD WORKOUTS YOU'VE RECOMMENDED?
The $10 and $15 a month membership tiers will soon have access to a searchable library of over 100 previously recommended workouts. You'll be able to search by trainer, workout type, and much more. There's a significant amount of work being done behind the scenes right now to make this happen.
WHY AM I GETTING EMAILS FROM YOU?
By default, when you sign up for the website, you're added to the email list. Anytime a new post goes up, you should be getting an email. If you don't want these emails, there's an MANAGE EMAIL PREFERENCES button on your account screen.
WHY AM I NOT GETTING EMAILS FROM YOU?
If you want to be getting emails and are not, please confirm your email address is correct on your member page. If it is, please also try these steps.
Check spam & promotions folders
Make sure emails aren't accidentally ending up in the Spam or Promotions folders of your inbox. If they are, click on "Mark as not spam" and/or "Move to inbox".
Create a new contact
In your email client add our address to your contacts list. This signals to your mail provider that emails sent from this address should be trusted.
Reply to newsletters
When you respond to an email you receive, your inbox treats that as a signal that emails to-and-from this address should be trusted.
